Tropical Sunset Smoothie (Printable)

A refreshing blend of mango, passion fruit, and orange juice layered with creamy yogurt for a bright summer drink.

# What you'll need:

→ Mango Layer

01 - 1 cup ripe mango, peeled and diced (fresh or frozen)
02 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
03 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
04 - 2–3 tablespoons water (as needed)

→ Passion Fruit Layer

05 - 1/2 cup passion fruit pulp (approximately 3–4 passion fruits)
06 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
07 - 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

→ Orange Juice Layer

08 - 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
09 - 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
10 - 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

# Method:

01 - Clean three blending containers or rinse the blender between uses to ensure layers remain distinct.
02 - Combine mango, Greek yogurt, honey, and water in the blender. Process until smooth and thick, then divide evenly between two clear serving glasses.
03 - Blend passion fruit pulp, Greek yogurt, and honey until creamy. Gently spoon or pour this mixture over the mango layer to create a defined separation.
04 - Mix orange juice, Greek yogurt, and honey in the blender until smooth. Carefully layer this on top of the passion fruit mixture to complete the ombré effect.
05 - Tilt the glass slightly when adding each layer, pouring slowly and using the back of a spoon to minimize mixing and maintain clear separation.
06 - Optionally adorn with fresh fruit slices or a mint sprig. Serve immediately for optimal freshness.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Three layers of tropical flavor that arrive separately on your tongue, each one a small surprise.
  • It's impressive enough to serve guests but easy enough to make on a random weekday without stress.
  • The ombré effect makes even a quiet breakfast feel like something special.
02 -
  • Frozen fruit is your secret weapon for thicker, more stable layers; room-temperature or fresh fruit will blend into each other more easily.
  • The order matters—always go thickest (mango) to thinnest (orange juice) so each layer has something to rest on.
03 -
  • If layers are blending together, your blends are too thin—add a bit more yogurt and reblend the next layer before pouring.
  • Clear glasses matter; ceramic or opaque cups hide all your hard work, so save those for when you're making this just for yourself and don't care about the view.
